Taking your dog camping is a great opportunity to help give your dog something new in his life. Dogs get bored, just like you and a camping trip can be great fun. If your dog is aggressive then you really need to be prepared. You should have a heavy tie out and a cage to put him in at night. This will help ensue he doesn't ruin the good time of other campers. You also should be aware of how your dog acts towards other animals. If he is likely to chase after a squirrel that wanders into your camp area then you need to be prepared for that. You also need to protect your dog from animals that may come into your site. Your dog should be in a safe place at night or when you are not going to be able to watch over him.

Be Aware of Restrictions

When you decide to take your dog camping with you it is important that you plan carefully. Some campsites do not allow dogs or charge extra for a dog. You should always call ahead and find out what the rules are pertaining to dogs. You also need to be prepared to clean up after your dog. You want to obey all rules of the campsite, so make sure to get a clear understand of dos and don'ts from the office before setting up camp.

Be Ready For Anything

You have to be ready for anything when camping with your dog. Bring extra food and water for him. Bring along a travel water dish in case you go hiking or are away from the camp for a while. Have a sturdy leash so you can keep your dog well controlled. Bring his bed or some blankets to give him a soft place to sleep. Always bring more than you think you will need. It is better to have more than not enough.
